Boone Carlyle Ian Somerhalder plays Boone Carlyle on ABC's series Lost. Boone is introduced in the pilot episode as the step-brother of fellow crash survivor Shannon Rutherford. Boone tries to contribute as much as he can to the safety of the castaways and eventually becomes John Locke's protégé. Boone dies in the first season when he falls from an aircraft stuck in the tree.

He is the son of Christian Shephard, half brother of Claire Littleton, and uncle of Aaron Littleton, though neither he nor Claire know this.

He laer hunted down and shot Ethan Rom in revenge.

Claire Littleton Emilie de Ravin plays Claire Littleton on ABC's series Lost. Before the crash, Clarie became desperate to give up her baby for adoption after her boyfriend walked out on her. A psychic insisted she must raise child herself, "Danger surrounds this baby," and out of the blue, the psychic arranged adoption in Los Angeles - she thinks the psychic knew the plane was going down and thus arranged for her to get on the flight.

Sun Kwon Yunjin Kim plays Sun Kwon on ABC's series Lost. Before the crash, Sun was a rich girl who married Jin, despite him being from a lower class. She learned english in secret so that she could run away from her failing marriage. However, at the last minute, she decided to stay with Jin and board the flight that led to the crash. On the island, she revealed she could speak English to the group when her husband was accused of burning the raft.

Juliet Burke Elizabeth Mitchell plays Elizabeth Burke on ABC's series Lost. Before the crash in 2001, Juliet was approached and offered a job with Mittelos Bioscience. The job took her to the Island, making her one of the "Others." However, in season 3, Juliet flees the others with Jack, and it is still unclear which side she's on.

Shannon Rutherford Maggie Grace plays Shannon Rutherford on ABC's series Lost. Shannon spent much of her adolescence with her step-brother, Boone Carlyle. From a young age she suspected that he was in love with her, but she never returned these feelings. She would pretend that she was being abused by her boyfriends, Boone would "buy them out" with a large sum of money, of which Shannon would secretly take half. She dies in Season 2 when Ana Lucia accidentally shoots her.

Before the crash, Jin was a fisherman's son who courted Sun in secret, but insisted on asking her wealthy father for permission to marry her. He worked for her father as an enforcer after their wedding, and refused to tell Sun about her father's shady dealings. On the island, he was an outsider because he didn't speak english, and tried to make friends by sharing the seafood he caught.

Kate Austen Evangeline Lilly plays Kate Austen on ABC's series Lost. Kate's parents divorced and her mother married Wayne, an alcoholic who often abused Diane. Kate soon learned that Sam was in Korea when she was conceived, and that Wayne was actually her biological father. One night, Kate took out an insurance policy on her mother's home and blew it up, with Wayne inside. She informs her of this and immediately leaves.
