She is Alan's ex girlfriend, and immediately after seeing each other in court, they have sex in the elevator. Shirley then hires Lorraine as an associate at Craine Pool & Shmidt, leaving Alan at a loss for words every time he sees her. He cannot keep his hands off her, and she seems to be the only woman in the show that has such a strong effect over Alan.
